Above our hotel paragliding, and hangliding colour the skies, and the walks through this stunning part of the French Alps are renowned. The gentle ringing of cowbells as you round a corner in the soft mountain air will be a memory you will carry forever. Cycle along the routes taken by many Tour de France competitors, you will find there are hundreds of breathtaking roads to sample. Picnic next to mountain rivers and streams in summer or ski challenging or simply picturesque pistes in winter. Annecy and its surrounds are an adventurers paradise just as it is a gourmet’s dream. The lake at Annecy offers a wide range of water-sports including windsurfing, sailing fishing and waterskiing. Meanwhile the mountain ranges offer cycling, mountain biking, hiking and mountaineering, horse riding and canyoning. Golfing enthusiasts can make use of the many impressive golf courses in the area.
The evenings and nights at Annecy are truly delightful and during August it becomes very celebratory with street musicians, jugglers and magicians entertaining on the banks of the canal. There are many cafes, restaurants and the occasional pub on the riverbanks where you can sit back and enjoy the entertainment. Shopping at Annecy is very pleasant, but it is impossible to not enjoy strolling down the small cobbled lanes in the old town of Annecy which are lined with all types of interesting shops.
