It is an easy drive to Annecy as there are many highways linking it to the rest of Europe. It is only an hours drive from Geneva and two from Lyon and the region is also well serviced by several bus companies. The whole area is very beautiful
and taking a train is the best way to view the beauty of the area. Several train companies provide services to Annecy, and SNCF the french rail network is the best link to start with go to
www.sncf.com. There are airports at Lyon, Chambery in winter, Grenoble and Geneva, Switzerland and it is easy to continue the journey to Annecy via bus or train from both places. Once in Annecy the best way of getting around would be to walk or to hire a bicycle! Public transportation here is very convenient – a bus runs straight past our door to Annecy or Albertville. A ferry also operates to the villages around the lake in the warmer months.
40 kms approx below Geneva means that Lake Annecy is a fantastic base for skiing from December to April. Drive to Courchevel, Meribel, La Clusaz and a multitude of other ski resorts – choosing from world class ski resorts to smaller French family resorts.
